Neuropathy is a painful complication of diabetes and some other endocrine disorders. Our state of the art technology allows us to perform patient friendly Nerve Conduction Testing (NCT) conveniently at your endocrinology office visit, safely and effectively. At our center, we are proactive in prevention, early detection, intervention and surveillance of such complications. How does an NCT work? At our center we use a non-invasive painless technique in which you place your hands and feet on special sensor plates connected to an NCT machine. This machine sends a low voltage direct current to these plates. The small nerve fiber response in your hands and feet is calculated to provide a quantitative measure of that conductance. This measurement indicates the presence and severity of peripheral neuropathy of the small nerve fibers. We then use this information to devise your treatment plan.
